International linkages

Healthy international connections are vital to the responsible development of enabling technologies in Australia.

Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and development (OECD) has a number of working groups which relate to enabling technologies and in which Australia participates. Participation in OECD Working groups is a way that Australia can influence and learn from international enabling technologies dialogue.


Trade missions

The department has contributed to trade missions to various trade fairs, conferences and regions of trade significance, including:

  • NanoTech 2011, Japan - International nanotechnology trade show
  • Hannover Messe 2011, Germany –One of the world’s largest trade shows
  • BIO2011
  • BIO2012
  • COMS2012, Norway – Conference on commercialising micro and nanotech – important commercial arena for micro and nanotechnology
  • BIO2013
  • BIO2014

To assist in the promotion of Australia’s enabling technologies capability, the department has established links with Austrade. Austrade has a network of offices in over 50 countries to assist Australian companies to grow their international business and attract productive foreign direct investment.
